VTF and the National Policy Network of Women of Color in Blockchain will partner to produce research to promote the creation of a special SBA loan to support entrepreneurs of color who work in blockchain. Currently, SBA loans cannot be awarded to entrepreneurs working in blockchain, so this would represent a huge change for these individuals.
A Policy Network For Change
The first delegation of the Women of Color in Blockchain visited D.C. October 16-17 2019 to advocate for inclusion in tech
To build further momentum after successful Women of Color in Blockchain delegation to D.C. October 16-17, 2019, the National Policy Network of Women of Color in Blockchain will further a robust 2020 schedule, including events for Black History Month, Women's History Month, Asian American History Month, and Hispanic American History Month.
Additionally, advocacy efforts will focus on getting a Small Business Administration (SBA) Loan for entrepreneurs using blockchain approved by Congress. Currently, recipients of SBA Loans, many of whom are women and/or people of color, are prohibited from using blockchain.
The Value Technology Foundation is very excited to now partner with this group to produce research by March 2020 to help further these legislative objectives.
